Ducati has marked significant progress this year, with the momentum already started from last year’s EICMA. Up to nine new models have been confirmed by several sources to debut in this year’s edition of the annual exhibition.
To recap, Ducati have already released two of the nine reported new models, those being the new Monster 1200 R and Diavel Carbon models.
Following those are leaked US emissions application documents confirming a revamped Hypermotard range, which is comprised of the Hypermotard, Hypermotard SP and Hyperstrada models, followed by an upgraded 899 Panigale called the 959 Panigale as well.
And, if spyshots reported in Europe from earlier this year are to be believed, Ducati could also reveal a new belt-driven cruiser model based on the Diavel supercruiser too.
The mystery behind the remaining models may have been answered following a cryptic new teaser the firm released on the Scrambler Ducati sub-brand’s official Facebook page. There, the firm introduced a comic strip with two characters named Bart and Betty, which have led many to believe that the Scrambler Ducati range will get two new additions when EICMA 2015 comes.
Fuelling this further are the presence of rumours of a smaller displacement Scrambler Ducati model since last year. Details are very scarce, but rumours suggest that the ‘baby’ Scrambler will adopt an engine smaller than the current 803cc found in the Scrambler, and will either be a V-twin or perhaps a single-cylinder should Ducati decide to re-introduce the latter original engine type into the Scrambler range.
Details beyond this point remain rather scarce, so expect more details when the annual EICMA show in Milan, Italy, opens its doors for the press on November 17 and November 18.
