Famed French trials rider and Red Bull athlete Julien Dupont recently went stunt-riding with the all-electric KTM Freeride E dirt bike. One main highlight in the video was the fact that he successfully completed a back-flip with the electric dirt bike.

Introduced sometime last year, the KTM Freeride E marks the famed Austrian motorcycle manufacturer’s entry into the zero-emissions arms race. The firm opted to trod down a slightly more unconventional yet extreme path with this electric-powered version of its acclaimed Freeride dirt bike model.

Unlike the regular Freeride, the Freeride E is powered by a liquid-cooled electric motor instead of a thumpy single-cylinder petrol engine, with the electric system able to generate up to 16kW or 22hp and 22Nm of peak torque. The system draws power from a removable lithium ion battery pack rated at 2600Wh, which can be fully charged in just 80 minutes.

As you can see in the video, this electric-powered dirt buster is just as capable of performing extreme activities and stunts like its petrol-powered siblings when in the right hands. With the video, both KTM and Julien have proven that zero-emissions can be paired with maximum fun indeed.
